Car Air Conditioning Refrigerant

R134a

R134a is a commonly used refrigerant in a wide range of medium and high-temperature refrigeration and air conditioning applications.

R134a is a common component in many HFC refrigerant blends and is used in some propellant applications.

Characteristics
R134a is suitable for use in new equipment and can be used as a retrofit in some R12 and R22 applications with an oil change

Available Sizes
12kg Cylinder

Safety and materials handling
Safety Class: on-flammable, R134a is miscible with synthetic oil or lubricant and is compatible with PAG-Auto and POE oil.

Car Air Conditioning Refrigerant

R1234yf

R-1234yf was controversial at its launch because of its – admittedly low – flammability and the hydrogen fluoride it produces during combustion. However, it is now used in the air-conditioning systems of almost all new passenger cars in the EU.

Characteristics
R-1234yf is a refrigerant with a chemical designation of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene or HFO-1234yf. It is a hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) and thus a low-GWP refrigerant.

It is a combustible gas that does not deplete the ozone layer and has a low GWP (global warming potential) value of 4.
This advantage and its thermodynamic properties, which are comparable to those of R-134a, make R-1234yf a popular alternative to R-134a.

Available Sizes
5kg Cylinder

Safety and materials handling
Safety Class : R1234yf is classified as A2L mildly flammable. Technicians need to take the relevant safety measures for the correct transport, storage and handling of a flammable gas.
