R134a is a commonly used refrigerant in a wide range of medium and high-temperature refrigeration and air conditioning applications.

R134a is a common component in many HFC refrigerant blends and is used in some propellant applications.

R134a is suitable for use in new equipment and can be used as a retrofit in some R12 and R22 applications with an oil change

R449A is a HFO blend refrigerant suitable for use in low and medium temperature applications.

R449A was developed as a lower GWP alternative to R404A, R507, R407F and R22.

Characteristics
As a retrofit replacement for R404A in supermarket applications, R449A delivers a reduction in power consumption and a significant reduction in carbon footprint in low and medium temperature applications
R449A is a good alternative to R404A in both low and medium temperature supermarket applications as it has a higher capacity and 5 – 10% better energy efficiency than R404A

R452A

R452A is a non-flammable HFC blend refrigerant, developed for use in air conditioning equipment, specifically designed for R452A.
R452A is not suitable for retrofitting due to higher operating pressures.

Characteristics
• R452A can be retrofitted to direct expansion systems using R404A or R507 without change of components
• Closely matches the characteristics and performance of R404A, R507, R448 and R449
• Using R452A as a replacement results in time and cost savings during a retrofit
• R452A should only be liquid charged into a system to ensure correct refrigerant composition and system performance
